Mental Health in Schools
The I-KAN Regional Office of Education's Mental Health in Schools Improvement Project was funded by an 18 month planning grant from the U.S. Department of Education. It was one the largest of only 16 awarded nationwide.
Funding allowed district-wide planning for the implementation of social and emotional learning in the school curriculum and focused on prevention, early intervention and efforts to support students during treatment and aftercare.
Many useful tools were developed and are available on this site to be used by other district personnel who are working to improve mental health awareness and resources in their schools.
